The memory wall - a practice in letting go.

This street art installation in Shoreditch is a quick snapshot of personal history, diving into how physical memories fade and change over time, and how we quietly accept that transformation.

Created by Irem Frayman, founder of Mikk Studio, The Memory Wall brought together personal notes, photographs, sketches and collected fragments that documented moments, thoughts and places from different periods of life. Installed temporarily in the public realm, these private memories were exposed to the movement and unpredictability of the street.

Over the course of the month, the installation gradually transformed as weather, time and the rhythm of the city interacted with its surface. Papers curled, images faded and layers shifted, allowing the work to evolve naturally with its surroundings.

Although temporary, the piece became a reflection on impermanence, showing how memories are not fixed objects but living traces that change, dissolve and take new meaning over time.
