Inland - Stockholm, Sweden
Sustainability woven into heritage.
Located in Gamla Stan, the historic heart of Stockholm, Inland is a sustainable concept store set within a Grade I listed building. The project explores how contemporary materials and modular retail systems can be introduced without altering the architectural fabric.
Strict preservation regulations required the historic structure to remain untouched. Rather than competing with the existing architecture, the design introduces a series of lightweight, reversible elements that sit gently within the space.
Sustainable materials form the foundation of the interior strategy. A durable, fully recyclable vinyl flooring provides a seamless base, while modular shelving and suspended display systems allow the store to adapt and evolve over time without permanent intervention.
The result is a retail environment where contemporary sustainability is carefully inserted into a centuries-old structure, creating a dialogue between heritage and future thinking.
